Teddi Mellencamp recently got five tumours removed from her body, including brain and lungs
Stage 4 Cancer Fighter Teddi Mellencamp Receives Approval for Tattoos. Teddy Mellencamp got his brand new tattoo after being “medically cleared” for it.
The 43-year-old reality star discussed his new tattoo with Erica Jean, 53, on a recent episode of the Diamonds in the Rough podcast.
“So, always, I wanted this tattoo, and I never got it,” said Mellencamp, who is battling stage 4 cancer and has had five tumors removed from her lungs and brain.
Before she could continue, Jean addressed growing concerns about the risks the tattoo posed to her body.
“Before everyone had a complete mental break, she was allowed to. She was medically cleared to get the tattoo, so don’t be crazy,” Jean said.
Mellencamp then finished her statement as she presumably showed off her new ink on her arm, “My whole family and I have talked about getting this little knife all these holidays.”
“I want, whenever I’m angry, to just go. And then anyone who knows me knows that we’re done with that conversation. We’re not that we’re not going anymore,” she continued.
“Plus,” she added, “we had a song that went with it, and we’d go, ‘I think I like this little knife,'” she joked, playing on the lyrics to singer Cordelia’s Little Life and calling it “the most disgusting song ever.”
“Well, you know what? Now we’ve taken it for the little knife,” Mellencamp joked.

The new tattoo comes just a week after she got matching tattoos with her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Matt Richards, 56.
The former castmates shared that they got their tattoos at Jennifer Turner Lippart’s birthday party in an Instagram post on April 10.
“We love our new tattoos! A perfect match! YOLO,” Richards captioned a black and white photo of her arm with Mellencamp and Lippart.

The mother of three first announced on Instagram in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stage II melanoma. In February of this year, she learned that she had multiple brain tumors. Since then, she has kept her fans updated on her cancer battle.
