Michelle Randolph Talks Elizabeth’s Pregnancy & Jack’s Death in 1923 Finale. Michelle Randolph, who played Elizabeth Dutton in 1923, has finally cleared up the secret about her character’s pregnancy.
Speaking to People, the 27-year-old actress revealed that her character, Elizabeth, is still pregnant with Jack Dutton’s child in the Season 2 finale of 1923, though the baby isn’t directly mentioned, saying, “Where that baby goes, I don’t know.”

Michelle noted that she didn’t feel a “full sense of closure” on the character because her story was left open-ended in the finale.
“Elizabeth leaves pregnant. We assume she’s going back to Boston. We don’t know where she’s going. I really had to kind of create my own story and not be tied to it,” she explained.

The second-to-last episode was also action-packed, with the deaths of five major characters, including Jack.
Elaborating on this, the Landman star joked, “It all happens, I mean, Jack’s death happened so fast, when I was reading it, I had to reread it. I’m like, ‘Wait, what just happened? Is he really dead? Is he going to come back to life?’ It was fast.”
Michelle also admitted that she was “more sad than disappointed” about Jack’s fate, especially after the couple had such a hard time in Season 2.
“There was no closure for either of them. But I watched it, and reading it and then going back and reading the scripts, I was like, ‘Okay, I can see how this was predicted because everyone is dying.’ That’s Elizabeth’s biggest fear and it’s come true. She was absolutely right,” she said.

Michelle admitted that it wasn’t just Jack and Elizabeth’s love story, but that saying goodbye to the series was “emotional,” as Season 2 ended with the ending of 1923.
“I think everyone was really emotional about [the end] of the show. It’s like, we could have done 10 seasons of it. It felt like no one was ready to let go,” she concluded.
Before we wrap up, it’s worth mentioning that the 1923 finale is now streaming on Paramount+.
