Kim Kardashian to Testify in Paris Heist Trail. Kim Kardashian is set to testify in person at an upcoming French trial over the armed robbery of her jewelry store in Paris in 2016, her US lawyer Michael Rhodes said.
A French court is set to try six people starting April 28 over an October 2016 jewelry heist that saw masked men leave Kardashian’s luxury Paris apartment with millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including a diamond ring gifted to her by her then-husband, rapper Kanye West.
The trial is set to last until May 23 and Kardashian is tentatively scheduled to appear on May 13.

In what is being called the biggest French heist to target an individual in 20 years, Kardashian was robbed of an estimated 60 million euros ($6.8 million at current prices) worth of jewelry while she was staying at a luxury residence during Paris Fashion Week.
Among the suspects arrested four months later in Paris and the south of France was Omar Ait Khadash, known as “Old Omar”, who is believed to be the ringleader of the gang.
Two investigating magistrates ordered the suspects to stand trial on charges including armed robbery, kidnapping and membership of a criminal gang – which are reserved for the most serious crimes in France.
On the night of October 2–3, 2016, several men, some impersonating police officers, entered the hotel where Kardashian, then 36, was staying.
Two of the intruders held guns to her head, and one, Kardashian later told detectives, spoke to her in English with a “very strong French accent,” and asked her to hand over the ring she was wearing.
They then tied her up, strangled her, and took her to the bathroom.

Meanwhile, three men were guarding the reception desk, and one was waiting at the wheel of a car.
In addition to the ring, which featured a nearly flawless 18.88-carat diamond, the group made off with several other pieces of gold and diamond jewelry.
One of the alleged robbers, Younes Abbas, fled the scene on a bicycle, dropping a diamond-studded cross worth 30,000 euros, which was found by a passerby a few hours later.
The thieves lost a few other items while fleeing, but the bulk of the bounty was never found and is believed to have been sold in Belgium.
