Kenneth Branagh Claims Tom Cruise‘s Skills Are Brutally ‘Underestimated’. Kenneth Branagh has come out with a shocking comment about his co-star Tom Cruise’s reputation as an actor.
For the uninitiated, Cruise is widely regarded as “the last great movie star” and “the man who saved the film industry” during the lockdown.
He has been awarded a BFI Fellowship, the British Film Institute’s highest honour for an actor and producer for their contribution to the UK film industry.
The 64-year-old actor and producer has contributed millions of pounds to the UK film industry with his films, from Eyes Wide Shut to the Mission: Impossible blockbuster, in a career spanning four decades.
Speaking to the Times of London newspaper, the British actor and filmmaker, who worked with Cruise in the 2008 film Valkyrie, said, “If he ever tires of shaking up the world with action, he will surprise those who see him as just a movie star.”
The 64-year-old added, “What he has done with The Mission and Top Gun is unique – cinematic entertainment with a serious intention of giving you a great time at the movies. But he is an underrated actor – for whom a golden age of performance beckons.”
Branagh went on to say that the Top Gun: Maverick star has traditionally spent many evenings in British pubs, where he gets respect from people but doesn’t make a big fuss.
“He finds a quiet corner, enjoys the environment and is always kind when he is seen. He is a natural laugher and enjoys what he does and it is contagious,” she concluded.
