Katy posted a black and white photo of herself with the Pope at the United to Cure conference on cancer research, which took place in Vatican City in April 2018.
The photo was captioned, “Rest in peace,” and showed Katy holding the Pope’s hand during the meeting.
It is worth noting that Katy had praised the Pope in a recent interview with Vogue.
Katy Perry said at the time, “I am a huge fan of Pope Francis. He is a combination of compassion, humility, toughness and denial. He is a rebel.”
Notably, Pope Francis, who had been battling lung disease, was met with tributes from several A-list celebrities following his death.
