The actress-writer reportedly made shocking confessions about the couple’s life in her upcoming memoir, Manual Not Included.
In her book, which hits shelves on May 6, Hilaria, now 41, admits that she was ready to split from the 67-year-old rascal, and “took off her rings” at one point during their wedding.
Hilaria admitted that they “fought a lot” because Alec was traveling for work while she was in New York taking care of their daughter Carmen and their dogs.
“It really gets to me, and I didn’t hesitate to tell him that. That year was probably the rockiest for us, and not just in terms of raising a baby and a toddler.”
In excerpts seen by The Sun, she continued, “I was so focused on how I thought things should be, and Alec was so set in his ways. Neither of us would budge. I took off my rings as a sign that I was ready to potentially move on.”
The mother-of-seven also claims in her memoir how Alec was answering emails and taking calls while she was giving birth to Rafael, who was born prematurely, and that he went back to work immediately after the birth, which she found “disrespectful.”
However, the couple — who have been married since 2012 — decided to work on their marriage and renewed their vows in 2017 on their fifth wedding anniversary.
