Florence Pugh Sets Guinness World Record as ‘Thunderbolts’. Florence Pugh has become a Guinness World Record holder after jumping from the world’s second tallest building, Merdeka 118, while filming Thunderbolts*.
During an interview with Variety, she opened up about her experience filming a stunt in which she jumped from a 2,000-foot building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I wanted to do that stunt because I knew it meant we all had to do it. Like, yeah, I had to jump from the world’s second tallest building, but we all did it,” the We Live in Time actress said.
“That day in Malaysia was an achievement for all of us,” she continued. “We all had to say that we did that stunt, and what an impressive and powerful way to start the movie!”

The Hollywood actress played the highly skilled spy and assassin Yelena Belova, aka Black Widow, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Harrison Ford and Olga Kurylenko.
Additionally, she shared her grandmother, whom she called Granzo Pat, honest feedback on her stunts and the film as well. “She loved the movie. She said, ‘Very cool, lovely, very thrilling,’ but I didn’t ask her what she thought about the jump.”
Florence Pugh concluded, “She’s also crazy, like she’s someone who does some pretty crazy things, so maybe she thought it was a walk in the park.”
Thunderbolts is released on May 2, 2025.
