On a Monday, May 5 episode of his podcast Oldish, the 51-year-old American actor reflected on his past and said Fox was “a breath of fresh air, coming out of what felt like Vietnam to me.”
Green and Fox began dating in 2004, tied the knot in 201, welcomed three sons, and called it quits in 2021.
Speaking about his past relationships, he said, “The relationship I had with Vanessa was very toxic, it wasn’t a loving, caring relationship.”
He spoke about his struggles with women, saying, “My mom, almost to the point, was like, she loved me so much. Now you see that with the kids.”
“Sometimes a mistake, it was just all about me. And then with Vanessa, it wasn’t like that at all, but it’s a relationship where it’s totally there, so you start to think, oh, this is a whole new version, like, oh she loves me, but this is her way of loving me,” Green added.
“She’s trying to help me and fix me and get me through things. And then after two years or so, you’re kind of looking at yourself in the mirror, and you’re like, who am I at this point? There’s not a single piece of me left. My relationship with everyone around me has changed,” the Don’t Blink star noted.
It’s worth noting that Green is currently in a relationship with Sharna Burgess, with whom he danced on Dancing with the Stars in 2021, and they have a son, Zane Walker, who was born in June 2022.
